Healthy Human Microbiota for Asia

The Asia Microbiota Bank is a social enterprise providing an unmet need for the citizens of Hong Kong and greater Asia. We are opening access to the quickly emerging field of microbiome therapy to patients, researchers and institutions in Asia by supplying safe access to human microbiota transfer, also known as fecal microbiota transplant.

The Asia Microbiota Bank is Asia’s first commercial stool bank collecting human gut microbiota from healthy human donors. We provide a processed microbiota solution, in the form of a Human Microbiota Transplant (HMT) implants, to clinicians and their patients. The understanding of the gastrointestinal microbiome represents one of the most important advances in medical science to date. Considered nearly a separate organ, the bacterial community in the GI microbiome modulates everything from the breakdown of dietary nutrients to protection against a host of human illnesses.

Microbiota Transplant

Human Microbiota Transfer HMT (also known as fecal microbiota transplant FMT) is a therapy which transfers gut microbes from a healthy human donor to a patient.

In this process, we collect fecal matter from rigorously screened donors and extract the healthier microbes for transplant by medical clinicians into sick patients.

Our goal is to make this breakthrough HMT therapy available to patients in a safer, cheaper, and standardized format.
